Both Southern Door’s baseball and softball teams picked up a victory on Saturday in Green Bay. In games originally supposed to be played in Brussels, Green Bay NEW Lutheran and Southern Door agreed to move these two games to Green Bay. The location didn’t matter for either sport as the Eagle baseball team took care of business 9-4, while the softball team won in five innings over the Blazers 21-2. The Milwaukee Brewers beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-2 at Miller Park Saturday night. Brandon Woodruff started out on the bump for Milwaukee. He faced off against Dakota Hudson for the Cardinals. Both teams were represented well as Miller Park was packed once again this opening series. It was still a tad bit chilly out so the roof was closed. Christian Yelich started off the game with another homer to left field to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead. He is the first Milwaukee player to hit a homer in each of the teams three games to open a season. Travis Shaw followed that up in the third with a solo shot of his own.
